Attention Historians!

October 3, 2006

In case you did not hear, the Vatican Secret Archives from Pope Pius XI’s pontificate (1922-1932) were opened on September 18th. Included among the documents are letters relating to the rise of Nazism and Communism in Europe, as well as the persecution of the Catholic Church in Mexico.

Zenit has an interesting interview with Matteo Luigi Napolitano, associate professor at the University of Molise, on the opening of the archives.
