A Victory for Life: Euthanasia Bill Killed in UK

July 10, 2009

CathNews and Zenit have the story on the defeat of a proposed amendment to Britain’s Coroners and Justice Act that would have legalized helping those with terminal illness to seek assisted suicide abroad.  The House of Lords vote margin of 194 to 141, however, is discouraging, for it shows that the culture of death does have strong support in the United Kingdom.  Nevertheless, this is still a cause for hope and continued action for the pro-life movement.

Much praise is deserved by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, a lobbying and grassroots organization that worked hard to see this amendment defeated.
