Two Blogs for the Philosophically and Historically Minded

July 24, 2009

I want to point out two blogs that I think do a great job of thinking a bit more deeply than most others on religious questions.

First, there is Cynthia Nielsen’s Per Caritatem which routinely provides thoughtful and astute reflections on theological and philosophical themes in contemporary Christian literature and historical writings.  Augustine, Duns Scotus, and Jean-Luc Marion are staples of her blog.  Cynthia is a doctoral student in philosophy at the University of Dallas.

Second, there is the joint-project, Prosblogion, which features news, reviews, and arguments pertaining to the philosophy of religion.  I have a few (brilliant) personal friends on there.  The line-up of contributors is impressive, including up-and-coming and already-established players in contemporary philosophy of religion.

So if you are in the mood for something a bit more intellectual than you find at most religiously-oriented blogs, give these two blogs a read.
